Wildflower Run

Arrive at Centrepoint Midland for a 8:30 am departure. We have two wildflower stops and over 200 km to go before we stop for lunch in Goomalling, so we need to get away early. We then head north along Great Northern Highway before turning off towards Calingiri and then stopping at the Rica Erickson nature reserve. ETA 10 am so we will stop for morning tea here. No services near here so this is a bring your own. A cake will be provided but you will need to bring your own cups and a thermos if you have one. We have a spare thermos for those that don't. We will also bring some tea, coffee and milk. If you want to sit you will need to bring your own chair. I checked out this location last weekend and the spider orchids are huge.

Then we will head off to Wongan Hills via Calingiri. There are some public toilets in Calingiri if required. Next stop Wongan Hills. The orchids are not as spectacular here this year but there are many other species in flower. A guided walk along the powerline will be provided. Then next stop the Goomalling Tavern. ETA 1:15 pm.
