Andrew Brooks has arranged a three-day touring and camping event for the Cockburn 4WD Club, which is open to all SCCA WA members, too! The route can easily be completed in a Saab, and if you prefer not to stay overnight in the bush on the second night, Mukinbudin Hotel has clean rooms and serves typical Wheatbelt fare. The convoy departs Bindoon at 10:30 m and travels through  Moora → Watheroo → Coorow → Mingenew. You can stay overnight in the Mingenew Spring Caravan Park, or there are several other options half an hour away in Dongara / Port Denison Day two starts in Mingenew to Coalseam Gorge → Morawa → Perenjori → Buntine Rock → Beringbooding Rock. If you're not camping Mukinbudin isn't far away. On the last day, depart Beringbooding Rock for Kokerbin Rock and  Lupton Conservation Reserve, returning to Perth. We depart at 9:30 from McDonald's, Ascot Wates (Entrance on Daly Street, just off the Great Eastern Highway) on a route that hugs the banks of the Lower Swan River. The final stop for lunch will be at the highly rated Coogee Boathouse Restaurant.

We meet CentrePoint Midland at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am departure to New Norcia, taking the route less travelled along the Darling Scarp to Toodyay and then towards Calingiri through the green paddocks of the Wheatbelt, sprinkled with the yellow of early-flowering canola. Our first stop in the Benedictine town of New Norcia will be at the Salvado Roadhouse Cafe for a well-deserved coffee to wash down the New Norcia Tart, Nut Cake, Biscotti or Pan Chocolatti you've chosen. After that, we have an hour to relax and chat, or take a stroll through the Abbey Church and Museum, olive groves and historic buildings. Then we're off to the Mogumber Hub for a hearty pub lunch and refreshments, or even a full Sunday roast at this community-owned tavern. A game pool on the Mogumber table is a must.

Join us in Keith's workshop for a couple of hours with Mike Baltovich, a car detailing expert from Macgiuars. Away from the gaze of Joe Public, Mike will share some trade secrets with us on how to restore our SAAB's to their pristine and blemish-free condition both inside and out. The Saabbq will be fired up and a light meal will be laid on for members to snack upon while practicing their detailing techniques.

We meet at the CentrePoint Midland for a 10:00 am departure to the House of Honey for a morning coffee stop and mead tasting for anyone keen to give a nod to this ancient beverage. Grab some honey to go when we leave for a slow drive along scenic routes to Lower Cittering and the Stringy Bark Restaurant and Cellar Door. Sample their extensive menu in a comfortable rustic atmosphere and then make your way back home at your leisure.

Everyone meet at Centre Point shopping centre car park in Midland at 9am for a 9:30 start. A scenic drive through the older Perth suburbs of Woodbridge and Guildford, then a coffee stop at the Last Crumb Cake Co. in Bassendean, where we can sample the award winning cakes or savouries. The Last Crumb Cake Co has been ranked by Time Out Magazine in the Top 20 places for sausage rolls in Australia. Then it’s on to Zone Bowling in Morley for two games of 10 Pin Bowling, this is booked for 12 noon. Food and drink is available at the venue.
